Our versatile one-of-a-kind tote bags are made from antique homespun, handwoven hemp and linen textiles from Eastern and Central Europe. Each tote's previous life may have been as a grainsack, sheet, tablecloth, or preserved yardage. The totes, including the hemp straps sourced in Romania, are organic, durable, and machine-washable, and are made in our studio in Asbury Park, NJ.
This large tote is made from an early-20th century central-European grainsack with a strong herringbone weave, and navy stripes.
